Hosting
How do I get back to my dashboard?
Go to evnts.rsvp/host, enter the mobile number you created the invite with, and type the code we text you. That's the whole login: no password, no account to set up. The link we texted you when you published opens the same place.
It works on any device. Create on a laptop, manage from your phone.
Can someone else help me manage RSVPs?
Yes. On the dashboard, open Co-hosts and send them a join link. They open it, sign in with their own number, confirm they want to join, and see the same dashboard you do. You can remove a co-host any time, and a co-host can leave from the same tab.
How do I message everyone?
Open Updates on the dashboard and write your note. Guests in the US and Canada get a text; everyone else gets a WhatsApp message. Only guests who said Going or Maybe and verified their number receive it.
Guests are also told automatically when you change the date, time or place, or cancel. A reminder goes out the day before the event; switch it off in Updates if you don't want that.
You hear about answers too: when guests RSVP you get a text (WhatsApp outside the US and Canada) with what changed and how many are going, at most once an hour. Switch it off in Updates or under More options in the editor.
Someone told me in person they're coming. Can I add them?
Yes. On Guests, use Add a guest to record their name, answer and party size. They count toward your headcount and catering summary. Add their mobile number too and we send them their link once, from you (you confirm they're expecting it) — a text in the US and Canada, a WhatsApp message elsewhere. Once they confirm the number from that link the RSVP is theirs: they get reminders and can change their own answer. Without a number we never message them.
How do I check people in at the door?
Every guest who's Going has a pass with a QR code and a 4-character door code. Point your phone's own camera at the QR: it opens the guest's card, and you tap Check in. If a party arrives in parts, check in just the ones who are here, and check in the rest when they turn up. No QR? On Guests, search by name or door code and tap Check in on their row. Co-hosts can do the door too.
No signal? Load Guests before you go in. Check-ins you tap while offline are saved on your phone and sync when you're back online. If two phones checked in the same guest, or someone who was refunded, the guest is marked Needs a look. Tap it to see every check-in, then choose Looks right or fix the count. The Door log under the guest list keeps every entry, and Export door log downloads it.
How do I change the invite after it's out?
Tap Edit invite on the dashboard. Everything is editable: words, cover, date, place, options. Going and Maybe guests are told automatically if the date, time or place changes. Your link stays the same.
What's the difference between cancelling and deleting?
Cancel event keeps the page up with a "cancelled" notice and tells your Going and Maybe guests. You can reactivate it later. Delete event removes the invite, every RSVP and the cover image for good. If the event was still on, your Going and Maybe guests are told it's cancelled before it goes; the link then shows "not found".
How many invites can I have?
Free events are free for any number of guests. You can have up to three live events at a time on one mobile number; once an event's date has passed it no longer counts, so you can create the next one.
Can I share photos afterwards?
Yes. Put the pictures in a Google Photos or iCloud shared album, then paste the album link into the invite under More options in the editor. It shows on the invite as "Photos from the party", and the Updates tab has a one-tap message to let everyone know.
Can I charge per person, or sell tickets?
Yes. First tap Get paid on your home page and connect your own Stripe account (about five minutes; Stripe checks your identity). Then, under More options → Tickets in the editor, type one price for a simple "per person" charge — or add ticket types: early bird, general, VIP, kids, a free volunteer pass. Each type has its own price (0 = free), a total available, a max per guest and an optional line guests see at checkout; switch one off to hide it. Guests see Get tickets / Can't make it instead of Going / Maybe / Can't, pick their tickets and pay on a Stripe page as they RSVP; only a paid RSVP counts on your list, though a guest mid-payment keeps their spot for 30 minutes so nobody is charged twice for the last one. The money lands in your Stripe account; refunds happen there too. If a guest's card is declined, their row reads Card declined (hover for the reason Stripe gave) until they pay or their hold lapses. Refund someone in full (or lose a chargeback) and their answer flips to Not going, freeing the spot for the waitlist; after a full refund we text and email the guest to say so. A partial refund keeps the spot. Evnts takes no cut. At checkout, guests also see an optional Support Evnts tip ($1, $2 or $5, nothing pre-selected): it goes to Evnts, not you, and you still get every ticket dollar (Evnts covers Stripe's fee on it). Refund a guest in full and their tip goes back with it. Don't want your guests asked? Switch off Ask guests to support Evnts under Tickets.
How do guests find the right place?
Under Where, start typing the venue or the address and pick it from the suggestions (they come from Google Maps). The address fills itself and a green On the map note appears: your guests' Directions then open that exact spot. Anything you type without picking (“Our place”, “Zoom”) still works; Directions then searches for your text. Change the place or the address and the pin comes off; Remove pin takes it off by hand. Type a different place without picking one and the old address is marked (“This address is from…”) with Clear it; Use … as typed clears it for you. After an AI draft, Where offers the best match (“Did you mean…?”) and pins it only if you tap Yes, pin it. With Hide address until RSVP on, the exact spot stays hidden too.
Can I pick my own link?
Yes. In the editor's More options, set a custom link such as evnts.rsvp/maya30. When you leave the box it says whether the link is free — and suggests one if it's taken. Otherwise you get a short auto-generated one.
Can members pay a different price?
Yes. On your home page open Member lists, make a list and paste your members in — one per line, name and number — or upload a CSV from your spreadsheet. Then in the editor, under Tickets → More settings, set a ticket type's Who can buy to Members only and pick the list. Guests on the list confirm their number with a texted code and can pick that ticket; anyone else sees it's for members. Nobody on a list is ever messaged, and your guest list shows a Member label next to them. A list is yours to reuse on every event; a list a live event uses can't be deleted until you switch those tickets back.
Can a ticket go on sale later, or stop early?
Yes — each ticket type has On sale from and Until under Tickets → More settings, in the event's time zone. Before the start, guests see when it opens; after the end, it says sales ended. Leave both empty to sell until the event starts.
Can people pay a membership fee for my community?
Yes, once you've connected Stripe (Get paid, on your home page). Open your community settings, switch on Sell membership under Membership and set a Monthly and/or Annual price. Your community page then shows Become a member: the person picks a plan, confirms their number with a code and pays on Stripe, straight to your account, with no cut for us. They're added to your community's member list (in Member lists, marked Monthly · Evnts or Annual · Evnts), can buy your Members only tickets, follow your community, and get a text with the link to manage it. Members cancel at period end from that page. If a renewal fails, Stripe tries the card again and the list marks them Behind until it goes through or the membership ends. Members who pay you another way (cash, bank transfer) go on the same list: paste them in with a plan and the date they're paid until, and after that date they no longer count. A new price is for new members; current ones keep theirs. Switching membership off stops new joins; current members stay until they cancel. Deleting the community stops everyone's renewals — they keep what they paid for — and the member list stays in Member lists (a new community picks it up again). While anyone pays, the community stays public: that page is where members cancel.
Can I offer different memberships, with perks at every event?
Yes. Under Membership in your community settings, tap + Add a tier (up to five): a Family tier, a Student tier, a free Friends tier. Each has its own Monthly and/or Annual price — leave both empty for a free tier, which needs no Stripe — and Every event includes: Free tickets, Guest tickets (free or a % off) and % off extra tickets. Perks apply to the paid tickets of every event you host, on the member's own RSVP: the free tickets go to the most expensive tickets they pick, then the guest tickets, then the % off on the rest. To leave an event out (a gala, a fundraiser), switch off Member perks apply under Tickets in its editor. Under More settings, Who can join is Anyone, Students (school email) — we email a code to a .edu, .edu.xx or .ac.xx address, or a school domain you add, before they pay, and keep only the domain — or Only people I add, which isn't sold on your page (import people in Member lists with the tier's name in a column). Switching a tier off (Open to new members) stops new joins; its members keep it. A tier that still has members can't be removed. To move to another tier, a member cancels and joins the other one. A Members only ticket on your community's member list can also be limited to some tiers: tick them under Tiers (none ticked means any member), and the invite says which.
How do promo codes work?
Once a ticket has a price, the Tickets sheet shows Promo codes. Add a code, a percent or an amount off, and optionally how many times it can be used and when it ends. We make the same code in your own Stripe account, so it shows in your Stripe Dashboard and Stripe counts every use. Guests type it in the Promo code box when they get tickets; a code only works on the event you made it for. A code can't take off the whole price — for a free place, add the guest yourself. Turn a code off with the × next to it; codes are also switched off when the event is cancelled or deleted. It's an ordinary Stripe code, so if you turn on promo codes in checkouts of your own on Stripe, it works there too. A guest who tries too many wrong codes waits an hour.
I run a club or a regular event. Is there a page for all of them?
Yes — start a community from your home page (evnts.rsvp/host): a name, a link such as evnts.rsvp/c/riverside-run-club, a line about it and a cover. Then open any event and switch on Show on the community page under More options. The page lists your upcoming events (and past ones by title and date), with no guest details. People tap Follow, confirm their number with a code, and get a text when a listed event is new — at most four a month from one community. Guests who RSVP to a listed event with a confirmed number also see More from your community on their confirmation, and follow with one tap. Make it private and there's no page and no follow. One community per number for now.
Invited to something
Do I need an account or an app?
No. Open the link, tap Going, Maybe or Can't, add your name and mobile number, and you're done. We text you a code to confirm the number so the host knows the answer is really yours.
The invite says there's a price. How do I pay?
Tap Get tickets, pick how many of each kind if the host offers more than one (early bird, general, kids…), fill in your details and confirm: you're taken to a secure Stripe page to pay the host directly. Your card details never touch Evnts. Once the payment goes through you're in: we text your confirmation and change link to your number, and email it to the address you gave at checkout (Stripe emails its own receipt too). If you back out before paying (or your card is declined), nothing is charged; your spot stays held for you for 30 minutes and then frees up for someone else. Just tap Get tickets again with the same number to try once more, from any browser. For a refund, message the host — they handle it in Stripe. A full refund releases your spot and we let you know; tap Get tickets again (and pay again) if you change your mind.
Where's my ticket for the door?
Once you're Going, your pass is on your RSVP page, under Your pass. The link is in your confirmation text and email (Show your pass). Show the QR at the door. Once it's on your screen it needs no signal. Save pass keeps an image on your phone, Share pass sends it to the people you're bringing, and a screenshot works too. The door code on it is for when the QR won't scan.
How do I change my answer?
Use the link in your confirmation text; it's personal to you and opens the invite with a Change my answer button. On the phone you RSVP'd from, the invite page itself also shows your answer with a Change button.
To take yourself off the list completely, choose Remove my RSVP from the same sheet.
Can I bring someone?
If the host allows plus-ones you'll see a party-size picker when you RSVP, and you can say who you're bringing. Some hosts also ask for an adults/kids split or dietary needs.
Why can't I see the address?
Some hosts show the address only after you RSVP. Tap Going or Maybe (Get tickets on a paid event) and it appears right away.
The invite asks me to tick dates. What's that?
The host hasn't settled the date yet. Tick every date you can make. When they pick one, you're automatically marked Going if you ticked that date, and you'll get a text with the final date.
Who can see my name and number?
Your number is never shown to other guests. The host sees what you entered. Your name appears in the guest list unless you tick Hide my name from other guests when you RSVP, and some hosts hide the list entirely.
What does my membership include?
Open the community's page (the link is in your welcome text): your membership shows what it includes at every event, for example "1 ticket + 1 guest ticket to every event, free". On that host's events, confirm your number and the ticket step starts at your included tickets, marked Included with your … membership; you pay only for the rest. What your RSVP included stays as it was even if the tier changes later.
Texts and WhatsApp
I didn't get the code or the confirmation text
In the US and Canada, texts come from our toll-free number, +1 866 993 3868. Elsewhere we use WhatsApp, so make sure WhatsApp is installed on the number you entered. Carriers occasionally delay a message by a minute or two.
Double-check the number, then request a new code. If you've replied STOP to us before, we can't text you until you text START to that number — the screen shows a one-tap Text START button — then request a new code.
How do I stop getting texts?
Reply STOP to any text from us and you won't get another. Message and data rates may apply. Removing your RSVP also ends messages about that event, and Unfollow on a community's page ends its new-event texts (a membership stays until you cancel it there). Changed your mind? Text START to the same number.
Is Evnts down?
Check the status page: it checks the site every five minutes, separately from the app, and shows uptime for the last 90 days. If it's green and you still can't get in, tell us.
What will you text me?
Only things about the event: a verification code, your RSVP confirmation, a reminder the day before, updates the host sends (by text once you've confirmed your number with a code; after paying by card alone they come by email), and a notice if the date, place or your RSVP status changes. If you follow a community, a text when it posts a new event (at most four a month). If you're a paying member of one, a text when you join and when the membership ends. Hosts also get one note the day after asking how it went. Never marketing.
Privacy and your data
What do you keep, and for how long?
The invite, the RSVPs and the numbers needed to send the texts above. Events are deleted a year after their date (cancelled ones after 30 days), and a host can delete an event at any time, which removes every RSVP with it. Details are in the Privacy Policy.
How do I delete everything about me?
Sign in at evnts.rsvp/host with your mobile number (it works even if you've only ever been a guest) and scroll to Your data. You can download a copy of everything keyed on that number, or delete it all in one step: events you host with every RSVP, your co-host access, RSVPs you made as a guest, and your number on Support messages. It's immediate and can't be undone.
Something we can't key on a number? Email support@evnts.rsvp.
I got an invite that looks like spam or a scam
Please report it. Every invite has a "Report" link at the bottom of the page. We remove invites that impersonate people or brands, sell things, or link anywhere unsafe.
Security
There are no passwords to leak: hosts and guests prove a mobile number with a one-time code, sessions are signed and expire, and links guests receive are signed so nobody can edit another person's RSVP. Invites accept links only from known services (Amazon wishlists, music playlists, Google Photos and iCloud albums) to keep phishing out.
Found a vulnerability? Email support@evnts.rsvp with the details; we read every report, reply within five working days and won't take action against good-faith research. The machine-readable version is at /.well-known/security.txt.
