Evnts vs Resident Advisor

Evnts vs Resident Advisor: your night, your list, your Stripe.

RA is where electronic music fans look for a night out, and its ticketing comes with that audience, resale and a scanner app. The trade-off: every event needs RA's approval, buyers need an RA account, the fee isn't published and you're paid after the event. Evnts pays you through your own Stripe account as tickets sell, with no fee added.

When Resident Advisor is the better pick

  • You want reach in the scene: RA's listings, picks and newsletter (RA says 2 million opt-in email subscribers) put your night in front of people who go out for electronic music.
  • You expect to sell out and want built-in resale, with barcodes held back until 24 hours before to stop touts.
  • Your crowd already has the RA app and trusts its checkout, including Apple Pay, Google Pay and PayPal.
  • You need early-bird tiers that move on automatically, presales and a queue for a big on-sale.

Where Evnts shines

  • Free for personal events, with no ads and no limit on guests.
  • Guests need nothing: no app, no account. They answer from the link in about 15 seconds.
  • Paid tickets go straight to your own Stripe account, with no Evnts fee.
  • Describe the event in one sentence and get a finished invite with a painted cover.
  • A reminder text the day before, and your updates by text, WhatsApp or email.
  • A QR pass for every guest, checked at the door from any phone, even with no signal.
  • Reserved seats picked on a phone, held while guests pay.

Switching from Resident Advisor

  1. Connect your own Stripe account from Get paid on your Evnts home page (about five minutes).
  2. Make the night: one sentence for the draft, then add ticket types (early bird, first release, door) with quantities, and promo codes for your crew.
  3. Set a ticket limit and turn on the waitlist, so a refund passes the spot to the next person.
  4. Set up a community page and put its link in your Instagram bio and group chats; followers get a text for each new night.
  5. Keep listing on RA for discovery if you like, and point people to your Evnts link to buy.

Questions

Can I use Evnts and RA for the same night?

Yes. Many promoters list on RA for discovery. If you sell on Evnts, put your Evnts link in your posts and bio; RA's own listings sell through RA Tickets.

What does Evnts charge on paid tickets?

Nothing. The money goes to your own Stripe account and Stripe's standard card fee is the only fee. Guests can add an optional tip to Evnts at checkout; you can switch that ask off.

Do guests need an app to get in?

No. Each paying guest gets a pass with a QR code and a door code on their phone; a screenshot works, even with no signal.
