|---|---|---|
| Who can use it | Any host: a person, a club or a nonprofit; no EIN needed | Organizations only; in the US you need an EIN (501(c)(3) status isn't required) |
| Fees on paid tickets | No Evnts fee; Stripe's standard card fee comes out of your payout | No fee to the organization, and Zeffy covers card processing |
| The ask at checkout | An optional $1, $2 or $5 tip to Evnts, nothing pre-selected; you can switch it off | An optional contribution to Zeffy; organizer pages and reviews report it pre-filled at 17% on US checkouts, set to $0 through Other |
| Getting paid | On your own Stripe account's payout schedule; Evnts never holds the money | Weekly by default (monthly or next-day for eligible organizations), after a 1–3 business day review |
| How guests sign up | Name and mobile number, then pay on a Stripe page | Checkout on the event page; tickets arrive by email |
| Reminders | An automatic text the day before | Two reminder emails to buyers |

What does a ticket cost in fees?
Zeffy charges the organization nothing and covers card processing; it asks buyers for an optional contribution at checkout instead. On Evnts the host pays Stripe's standard card fee, and guests see an optional $1, $2 or $5 tip with nothing pre-selected.
| Ticket price | Zeffy | Evnts |
|---|---|---|
| $10 | $0 to you; buyer asked to contribute | $0 (Stripe's card fee only) |
| $20 | $0 to you; buyer asked to contribute | $0 (Stripe's card fee only) |
| $50 | $0 to you; buyer asked to contribute | $0 (Stripe's card fee only) |
Zeffy is the cheaper option for an eligible nonprofit, because it also covers the card fee. Zeffy's US help says buyers can lower the contribution to $0; organizer pages and reviews report it pre-filled at 17% on US checkouts, while Zeffy's UK site says it's never pre-selected. Questions
Can I use Zeffy for a birthday party or a club without an EIN?
Not according to Zeffy's own eligibility rules: it's for organizations, and in the US that means an EIN. Evnts works for anyone hosting, from a kids' birthday to a club night, with or without one.
What does the tip on Evnts look like?
At paid checkout guests can add $1, $2 or $5 to Evnts. Nothing is pre-selected, so skipping it takes no extra step, and you can switch the ask off for your event.
Who pays the card fee on Evnts?
You do: Stripe's standard fee comes out of your payout. Your guests pay the ticket price and nothing else, unless they choose to tip Evnts.
Do I need an invite to host?
Hosting is invite-only for now. You're in if a friend who hosts on Evnts sends you one of their invite links, or if you've RSVP'd to someone's Evnts invite, and a few open spots go to new hosts every day. If today's are taken, leave your email when you publish and we'll send you an invite. Guests never need one.
